Exchange Club to honor Burns with Golden Deeds Award
Bob Burns age 71, a longtime Naugatuck volunteer and former board member, is named recipient of the Golden Deeds Award by the Naugatuck Exchange Club. The honor recognizes unsung local heroes and will be presented at an April 29, 1997 banquet in the Continental Room. Burns has coached and officiated for decades, including Little Pal Basketball and the Peter J. Foley Little League, and served in city government and veterans groups. His family life includes a 1953 marriage to Phyllis and the birth of a granddaughter.
