At Aten, N. H. 13 miles from Lakeville, a sash and blind factory and part of Wilson & Eaton office buildings burned after a fire started around 10 pm in the upper room, likely from overheated woodwork. Ferrell aged 31 who killed Express Messenger Clhizies Lane on August 10 last was executed in the electric chair just after midnight. He rode free to the express car from Urbana to Columbus a friend befriended him. He showed no remorse and died in full faith of the Catholic religion after receiving last rites. Ferrell planned the robbery to fund his marriage to Lillian Gostlow, robbing $1,400 from the express car. Authorities denied appeals for commutation.
