Vermont State Colleges Start Holiday Programs
Vermont State Colleges Board of Trustees approved changes to the Campus Holiday program at Johnson and Lyndon State Colleges aimed at boosting year round funds. Changes require a minimum 15 day notice for July reservations, limit stays to five days or 20 person nights, raise four day meal prices, and restrict in state bookings to avoid private tourism competition. Guests will fill out questionnaires to assess whether they would have stayed at a local motel otherwise. Local business leaders had argued the plan would siphon private tourism.
