Local angler hunts rare hapis-scapis in New England waters
Frank J. Wylong of Central Avenue, a zealous Naugatuck angler, claims to have an unfailing baiting method using castor oil. He and Fred Herbour recently fished Lake Quassapaug for bull-heads and reportedly pursued a rare hapis-scapis that supposedly climbs trees and changes color. Wylong plans a future expedition with nickel plated creepers, while scientists seek to learn what becomes of the creature after death.
