Ex-Warden Brown Dies In Detroit
Walter E. Brown, 77, former borough warden and longtime town official, dies in Detroit after a long illness. A Neugatuck native born in 186? he served as borough warden from 1921 to 1932 and held roles including secretary and physical director of the local MC. He chaired local churches, served as postmaster for 12 years until 1934, and was active in Centennial lodge and other fraternal groups. He supervised the St Michaels Episcopal church Sunday school for years and was clerk of the courts for several years. Continued on Page 6.
