Blood drive at Naugatuck Chemical Plant yields 148 pints
Employees of the Naugatuck Chemical Company donated 148 pints of blood during the Bloodmobile visit held Wednesday June 22 at the plant. About 194 workers were scheduled to donate but many canceled due to calls. Mrs Donald McCallum chaired the Red Cross Blood Program chapter and commended the company for its interest and cooperation.

A borough girl sustained cuts on the middle three fingers of her left hand when trapped in an electric mixer. Firemen freed her using a hack saw blade and snippers to cut through the street rod. she was taken to Dr Leo L. Tylee's office for treatment.
