The body of Sergt Richard C Manmaic son of Meandora and Joan Snamai 49 Goraxin Street is en route from France for reburial in the United States He was killed in action during the Battle of St Lo France on July 28 1944 He enlisted September 7 1941 served a year in the United States and went to Europe October 28 1942 He saw battles in Italy then went to England awaiting the continental invasion He is survived by three brothers Fred and John of Naugatuck and Albert of Waterbury and a sister Mrs Mildred Finsel Funeral arrangements are by Buckmiller Funeral Home 22 Park Place
Maude Agnes Eggleton longtime Beacon Falls librarian dies at home on Wolfe Avenue after a lung illness. Born in Whitinville Massachusetts she was daughter of the late David and Agnes Fisher Eggleton. Survived by two brothers Robert J Waterbury and Albert Eggleton Beacon Falls and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday at 2 pm at United Church officiated by Rev Daniel E Bartlett. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery Waterbury. Friends may call at home after 3 pm tomorrow. Arrangements by Alderson Funeral Home Meadow Street.

Catherine Blondes of 12 Curtisscourt widow of John Blondes died last night in St Mary's hospital after a short illness. A native of Lithuania she lived in Naugatuck 40 years and was a communicant of St Marys Church. Survivors include two sons Frank Mulesky Edmund Siondes a daughter Mrs Thomas Savarese three brothers Thomas John Wal lant Moss Theo dora Wallant a sister Agnes and five grandchildren. Services Friday at 8 15 from Fitzgerald Funeral Home to St Marys Church for a 9 oclock requiem high Mass burial in St James Cemetery.
Nearly 300 children aged three to 15 visited borough playgrounds on opening day as a supervised recreation program began. At Recreation Field the largest turnout. Central Avenue had fewer children while Prospect Street School added new see-saws and swings attracting many youngsters. Supervisors include Mary Jane Mahan Daniel Fitzgerald Lillian Quirke Edward Mariano and Thomas Leary with Alex Krayesky Vincent Healy and Mary Reilly overseeing different sites.
