Borough Native Among Cadets Sailing For Europe On Cutter
Cadet Joseph C Amaral of the U S Coast Guard Academy, son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Amaral of 48 Spencer St, sails Saturday aboard the Cutter Eagle as part of a three-ship training squadron. The voyage covers 1 81n miles with about 51 days at sea and 14 days in foreign ports visiting Portsmouth London Oslo Le Havre Paris before returning home August 15. The Eagle, once the German Horst Wessel, now trains cadets in sea life aboard three cutters with groups rotating among Eagle Absecc and Yalutat to broaden nautical skills.

Junior Women Formulate Plans For Coming Year
The YTSI US carriage board meeting of the officers and chair men of the Naugatuck Junior Women's Club was held at the home of Mrs. George Schaffer.
