Arrangements for the first double funeral in Naugatuck history detail honoring three soldiers, Sergeant Raymond Moore and Corporal James Tohes among the fallen. Processions from the homes, church services at St. Wrueds, graveside honors by the American Legion and local posts, with pallbearers, firing squad, and color guards.
Jack Dempsey resumed training at Camp Conely with sparring partners Glen and Gilleloider. He traveled to Phula Yehin Crimden and returned to prepare for a bout against Battling Ghee from Memphis, targeting GanOrian, with eye injury limiting practice.
The home of An Te Helle QR Siver is the center of a Connecticut marriage dispute. Mrs Adele Cautn of Perth Amboy is named in a suit against Shithel o Siver for embezzling funds from the church treasury. Siver fled with the church’s funds and eloped to Greenwich last month. He has two grown sons and refuses to reconcile with his wife amid the lawsuit.
Mrs Catherine Kaber and daughter Marion McArdle, both indicted for the murder of Daniel Rather, reached Cleveland from New York after midnight. They rest at the county jail, were shown statements from a Sandusky arrest, and face arraignment before Judge Bernon. Grand Jury action against three others is expected by Monday.
Washington letter from Vice President Calvin Coolidge commends Horace A. Moses of Springfield Mass and the Eastern States Agricultural and Industrial League for boosting home grown food. The note emphasizes soil based industrial prosperity and lists league officers and its three active departments the Farmers exchange Junior achievement bureau and home bureau reflecting growing eastern state cooperation in agriculture and industry.
Washington June report states Josephus Daniels, ex secretary of the navy, living in Raleigh North Carolina, declined to comment on Rear Admiral William Sims latest London dispute saying I have no asbestos handy I would not express myself on anything else.
Miss Helen O'Hara, daughter of Fire Commissioner Wiltthua M. O'Hara, is in Milford hospital with cuts to head and legs after being thrown through a windshield in a Ford coup driven by James Beecher of Far View Beach late yesterday.
New York report states Rev. John Lehnert was interrupted by a detective as he prepared to marry for a $25 fee after securing a certificate days earlier. Authorities plan investigations into each marriage record from this year.
Children day will be observed with a 0:45 a m Sunday school exercise in the parish house where promotion certificates will be awarded. At 11 a m baptism will be administered to children, Bibles presented to those baptized seven years ago, and Go-to-Church Band pins awarded. Rev Edward R Hance will give a candle talk on The Light of the World. This is the last service until September as interior repairs begin next week and summer services move to the parish house.
Washington reports the American Legion’s national committee and the State Department are investigating fifteen American veterans living in Greece who allege they were mobilized into Greek military service. Dayton Legion post members raised the issue, saying the men were in Athens representing U.S. firms during a disturbance and were ordered to report for mobilization. If verified, steps for immediate release will be pursued.
A new accord for military cooperation against the Greeks was signed at Baku by representatives of the Russian Soviet and Mustafa Kemal. The Soviet agrees to send troops to Armenia and Angora and to provide war materiel to Kemal’s forces. Cossacks have reportedly crossed the Turkish frontier into Trebizond.
A local woman Mamie Frankoski of North Main Street Waterbury settled out of court the civil suit against Waterbury Hospital Corporation and Citizens Coal Company over an April 27 coal chute cover slip in the Buckingham Building. Frankoski suffered a left leg injury and was home for about two weeks. Attorney Henry J. Freeman filed the $600 damages claim alleging the coal wagon driver failed to safely replace the cover and naming the Buckingham Building owner Waterbury Hospital as involved through its ownership.
Fr. W. Johnson of Yale University will conduct the morning service at 10:80 tomorrow at the Sal en Lutheran church. The service will be in English. Sunday school and Bible class meet at noon as usual. The pastor Rev. Hilmer Larson will preach at the evening service at 10 o'clock. His subject will be Saved By Grace Through Faith.

Dublin June 11 early enforcement of martial law in the city is expected by leading business men. British military authorities have warned that cycling in Counties Dublin, Wicklow and Meath will be stopped if attacks on troops persist. An order says owners of premises overlooking Dublin Castle will be shot at sight if they use roofs without official permission.
Washington reports the United States will withdraw from the shipping business as privately run fleets replace government operations. Policy shift faces two to three years, with a liquidation plan to minimize losses while the shipping board transfers duties to private enterprise.

Miss William Holmes prepared the document with 26 bequests to teachers and classmates, including devices to aid in classes and humorous items.
Florence Olson composes a playful jingle about Millville High School students. It names Marl Schwartz Loretta Sullivan Grace and others in a breezy verse about dances, fashions, romances, and classroom quirks in a period tone.
