Italian-born Fisher widow of Ralph Fisher dies at 79

Mrs Ralph Fisher (DiMangano) Fisher, 79, widow of Ralph Fisher, of 147 Grand view Ave, Waterbury, died Friday at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. Born May 31, 1896 in Campotataro Benevento Italy she came to Waterbury in 1911. Funeral today from Albini Funeral Home at 9:15 to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for 10 Mass. Burial Calvary Cemetery.

Obituary of Gustave F. Ekquist of Oxford

Gustave F. Ekquist 86 of 370 Quaker Farms Road Oxford died Saturday at Laurel Heights Hospital Shelton after a long illness. Born September 14, 1888 in Finland, he came to the United States as a young man and lived in Oxford for 40 years. A retired New Haven Railroad employee, he attended Lutheran Church and belonged to the Oxford Grange. Survived by his widow Louise Wehrhahn Ekquist and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran Church with burial in Trinity Cemetery Seymour. Visitation tonight 7 to 9 p.m. at Hull Funeral Home Seymour. Memorials to Lutheran Church building fund.

Dead Woman Identified in Bridgeport Crash

Bridgeport police identified the deceased as 63 year old Sarah O Boyle of Bridgeport after a one car crash on Madison Avenue Saturday around 5 p m. The driver may have suffered a heart attack before the crash. In Montreal the Expos announced pro contracts for Art Miles and Mitchell Cipolla from Austin Texas and New York respectively, as first and third round selections in the June draft.

Connecticut Legislature Approves Fifteen Percent Of Bills

Hartford Connecticut lawmakers approved about 15 percent of the more than 5 006 bills submitted this session. Governor Grasso acted on about half before adjournment. Major gains included state employee pay raises and collective bargaining rights, plus binding arbitration for municipal workers. Consumers won price posting and prescription price advertising while several consumer protections passed and others failed.

SNET Awards Contract To Recycle Scrap Paper

Southern New England Telephone awards Nationwide Paper Stock Company a one year contract to recycle about 100 tons of paper annually including scrap, billing cards and old telephone directories. Nationwide to process 37 million computer cards and remove directories from communities during local recycling campaigns. SNET ecology program spans 64 projects and has earned EPA and Commerce awards.
