Brownie Troop Fly-Up ceremony and officer elections

Troop 145 met at St Michael Parish House to hold the Brownie Fly-Up ceremony with mothers invited. Afterward punch and cookies were served. Troop 140 conducted attendance and practice for the festival and elected officers for next fall: President Jean Westerhoff, Treasurer Eleanor Donald, Scribe Jeanine Dovell, Reporter.

Second Waterbury Attacks Woman Triggering Police Inquiry

In Waterbury on June 6 a woman, Rachel Spallone, 43, was grabbed from behind and knocked to the ground by a young man carrying a knife. He muffled her screams, then fled when he heard footsteps. Police described the suspect only as a young man.
