Thirteen Juniors Chosen for Naugatuck Boys State 1969
Thirteen high school juniors from Naugatuck were selected to attend the 1969 American Legion Boys State at the University of Connecticut Starrs from June 22 to 28. Candidates include Dennis Baum, Edmond Breton, Richard Dinkle, Charles Dyson Jr., and others. Cmdr. Frank Castagna announced the selections and noted local organizations aiding the sponsorship.

Retirement Board Approves Three Local Pensions
The Retirement Board approved three pension awards and ordered refunds to two former employees. Manuel Medeiros received $952.88 including interest, Wilson Clark was refunded $490.41, and Selly B. Miller was granted a monthly pension of $258.20 starting in September as she retires from the local school system.

The Prospect Legion Auxiliary held its Gay Twenties Nursing Scholarship Dance awarding the Jacklyn Lutkus Nursing Scholarship to two Prospect girls seeking nursing careers. Miss Dorothy Wisneski, last year’s winner and Miss Prospect, attended with escorts. she thanked the group for supporting her studies. Music and fashion show entertainment featured local acts and the judges awarded best costumes to Mrs. Richard Ciprianu and Berry McGiuglin.
