National dairy month brings wide cuts of beef and pork at budget prices plus abundant produce. Stores feature milk cheeses eggs broilers and small turkeys along with fresh fruits vegetables and seafood as shoppers seek value. Weather favors market supplies and price drops for vegetables, fruit, and dairy products.
New York stocks opened with modest advance and selective strength. Technology and electronics led, while steel and deviated sectors lagged. notable movers included Chock Full O Nuts, Magnavox, International Business Machines, Tex Instruments, RCA, Ampex, Sperry Rand, and Chrysler with varied volumes as markets began a volatile session.
Parish Players elect a new slate at a Congregational Church meeting held at the parish house. Roy Gibbs and wife chosen as presidents. Carl Baum and wife as vice presidents. Milton Colling and wife as secretary. Phil Robinson and wife as treasurer for the new year.
Rev Harold Mii will lecture on his Mediterranean trip with illustrated 35mm stereo images. The talk, nonsectarian and free of charge, will cover life in Jordan Lebanon Egypt Turkey Algeria and Morocco with a focus on Moslem lands past and present.
The Nauga tuck Branch of the American Association of University Women will hold its final meeting for 1959-1960 next Monday evening, June 6 at 7 o'clock at Mrs. William Tuley house. A covered-dish outdoor supper is planned if weather allows. Members should bring their own place settings. Hostesses assisting Mrs. Tuley include Robert Foltz, chair man, Miss Emily Sophie Brown, Mrs. Lawrence Matzkin and Mrs. Thomas Stack.
A Hess meeting will feature all officers and committee chairmen delivering one minute reports. Entertainment is planned by Mrs. John Eckert and Mrs. William Pelt Jr.

The Naugatuck High School junior prom titled Starlight Fantasy was held in the school gym. Music was by Mike Sgrillo's orchestra. Frances Berger was crowned Queen with escort Richard Whitehill as King. Nancy Smey of Walling and escort Teg Canase attended, chaperones listed include Principal Richard Leonard and Mrs Leonard plus Mr and Mrs Charles Berlero and Joseph Bielanos.
A social event described as a dinner panty with dancing featured Atty and Mrs. Lawrence and Mrs. Matzkin serving as class advisor. Chaperones listed include Mr. and Mrs. Roy Foust, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Weaving, Mr. and Mrs. James Barrar, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bertero.
Mrs Tillie Koskn and Mrs Betty Smithausler president and vice president of the Nori Nibblers and Mrs Marge Brodeur from 19n0 Tops Queen have returned from Detroit Michigan where they attended the Tops Clubs annual convention.
