Start Probe To Determine Blast Cause

A preliminary investigation is under way at the Naugatuck Chemical plant to determine the cause of a $300,000 fire and explosion that destroyed building No. 48 early Saturday. State labor department investigators join with company officials and Fire Marshal Shenaluo in the probe. Fire departments contained the blaze. several nearby houses reported cracked windows from the concussion. Plant staff were off for a three day holiday. origin of the explosion remains undetermined as nitrobenzol derivatives were manufactured in the unit. Man Wanted Here Caught In N J

Naugatuck police left today for New Jersey to return the third Waterbury man wanted for the April theft of 40 from Mezzio's service station. Joseph Rollo, 16 Newell Place Waterbury, eluded the search that led to arrests of Joseph Delgado and Joseph Lubinsky. Rollo was to be detained in Flemington, N J, and appeared in Waterbury court tomorrow morning.

Three Students Named To Attend Boys State

Three students from Nutgagatnek High School were elected to attend Boys State. William Desmond Raymond Clealewski and Robert Dawling, a junior and two sophomores, will join fellow Connecticut youths at Fort Trumbull New London from June 22 to 28. Miss Anna Daly 43 Dies in Waterbury Hospital

Native of Naugatuck Miss Anna Daly 43 of 170 Mead Avenue Waterbury died early today at St Marys Hospital following a stroke. She was daughter of the late Ambrose Daly and Anna Daly educated in local schools and a graduate of Naugatuck High School.
