New London July 2 Christian Salsieder a New York detective recovered his coat after losing it on the Thames River bridge. He called at 2 45 p m to report the loss and listed every street traveled. An hour later he phoned again to say he had found the coat himself. The garment held his shield wallet thirty transportation passes his car registration and his wife’s pocketbook.
A historic funeral in Bridgefort saw sixty nine Klan members in white robes attend the burial of William Waterman at Mountain Grove cemetery after services at Henry Bishop’s funeral parlors. Masons attended but did not perform their rites as Klansmen conducted a masked procession and laid flowers on the grave.

The Warner Bros Grenadier Drum Corps of Bridgeport, formerly Milford’s Grenadier corps, will march in the Connecticut Fifers and Drummers Association parade and field day on Saturday August 1 under St Francis’ YTMBA Drum corps. Organized over 30 years, they helped put Bridgeport on the map with renowned ancient corps status.

The boys were accused of stealing salt and pepper shakers and a silver teaspoon from J A Duffy's on Water Street. The items were later discarded, with the spoon missing from the establishment. Westport July 21 The State Police after investigating the accident on the Post Road in which Warner Johnson of 57 Lee avenue Bridgeport was knocked down by an automobile operated by Thomas D Ledwith of Scott street Norwalk exonerated Ledwith from all blame in connection with the accident Johnson was painfully but not seriously injured and was taken to the Norwalk hospital Ledwith said he was proceeding toward Bridgeport when Johnson walking in the road staggered in front of his machine and was struck by the front right fender Police say Johnson was under the influence of liquor.
New Haven on July 21 two plainclothes officers Vincent Taragowski and Paul Ward raided an establishment at 178 Franklin street and confiscated a small quantity of alleged liquor. The man Joseph Smnblski 85 and his mother-in-law Agnes Tokos 70 were taken into custody.
Bridgeport July 21 Paul Novak forty nine of 95 Helenstree attempted death by own action in his home while his wife was out shopping. He turned on three gas jets in the kitchen and then retired to his bedroom above to await the effects of the fumes which suffocated the pet canary. He is now at Hillside home recovering from a ten day spree, his wife says. Police say domestic troubles caused the spree and the attempted death by own action. Novak suffers from chronic alcoholism and is an employee of the Union Metallic Cartridge Company.
Southington on July 21 Deputy Judge Shepherd presided as Vincent Juchnewies proprietor of a Fowler block Plantsville soft drink shop entered a plea of nolo contendere and was fined $150 and costs with a suspended fifteen day jail term for keeping liquor with intent to sell.
A pedestrian named Larry Andy, 641 Harral Avenue, is listed in critical condition at St. Vincent's Hospital with a fractured skull after being struck by a car driven by William Walker on the corner of Lexington and Harral avenues. The incident occurred last night around 10.00. Walker fled the scene, was later arrested near Main and Frank streets, and faces bonds totaling 1060 dollars on charges of evading responsibility, reckless driving, and driving without an operator's license.
