Frank W. Gumpper of Waterbury died suddenly at St Marys Hospital. He was born February 14, 1904 in Honesdale Pa and retired from Anaconda American Brass Co. He is survived by his wife Effie and children, plus siblings and grandchildren. Catherine Chenkus widow of John Chenkus died at Jones Nursing Home after a long illness. Gov Kenneth M Curtis announced a $110 000 grant from the Economic Development Administration for construction and alterations to the Eastport Memorial Hospital in Eastport Maine. Burial will be in St James Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
