A derailment of 14 freight cars near Seymour halted service between Bridgeport and Waterbury for more than 12 hours yesterday. Conductor reports a broken axle caused the wreck, with 11 other cars derailed and tracks buckled. No serious injuries. two repair trains dispatched from Wantage and New Haven to clear a single track.
