Hospital Attendants Charged With Manslaughter in Derby Case
In Middletown on December 26, three attendants at the Connecticut Hospital for the Insane, John H. Walsh James Morrison and Thomas Tobin, were bound over to the Superior Court on manslaughter charges for the death of Petro Tellanelli of Derby. Another attendant Daniel Keefe was discharged. Tellanelli, Christmas morning patient, struck an attendant and was beaten unconscious. died two hours later. Medical exams showed three broken ribs a crushed skull and a heart injury.

Becker Fails to Break Under Death Sentence
New York December 26 Abraham Becker a Bronx chauffeur faced the court after being sentenced to death for murdering his wife by beating her with an iron bar as she knelt by the radiator of his car. His nerve remained unshaken and he bade the court goodby as he prepared for electrocution in the week of February 5. His wife’s body was buried in a Bronx boiler pit on April 7.
