Mrs. Frederick W. Vanderbilt, founder and honorary president of the Whensooyver Circle of King's Daughters, sent her semi annual gift of ten pieces to each member. The group, unchanged for 23 years, has seen no deaths or resignations though some members married. The circle aids the poor in New York by supplying raw material for garments. ten barrels of garments were shipped last year.
In Orange New Jersey police court Judge Bray questions 24 year old Mrs Pasquale Leonardo of 41 Freeman Street about lunacy for one of her sons. She admits she has nine children and is 24 years old saying her husband had six when she married him and they have three more since.

New York reports a German style health inspection for hotel staff to protect guests. A Broadway hotel with 450 servants began the program, citing risks from infected waters and contaminated drinkware. Health officials note dining car waiters pose harder questions and push for a national health bureau to supervise interstate sanitation. Twelve of 450 employees refused the exam and were discharged.
Miss May Mingst of Milford and GC J Perkins of Cambridge wed in Cambridge after a Milford store encounter where Perkins, a traveling salesman, said his last meal disagreed and Mingst offered to cook his meals, sparking their romance.
Wartford dispatch reports Patrick J. Sheehan, traffic policeman on Asylum Street near Union Station, saved a mother and two children from a runaway trolley but was dragged 50 feet and fatally injured. In Nevada Ohio near Upper Sandusky early today a collision between Pennsylvanian trains left five killed and twelve injured. Train No 48 from Chicago to New York plowed into No 16 from Pittsburgh to Chicago. Two engineers on the express were killed. baggage man and Pullman passengers were among the dead and injured.
The fifty-eighth annual report on steam railroads ending June 30 1910 is in Governor Weeks hands with Baldwin receiving a copy. It shows gross operating revenue 64 819 496 12 and passenger revenue up 2 027 930 88 to 26 422 102 49 with 4 619 264 passengers carried. Freight revenue totals 388 463 648 40 and 29 085 934 tons carried, up over last year. Forty-two grade crossings eliminated and lines double tracked with tunnels and steel bridges planned or underway. Total injuries 600 with 126 fatalities. accidents spread across Central New England New London Northern and New York New Haven and Hartford lines.
