The Naugatuck Housing Authority met with Naugatuck Lumber Co officials to discuss terms for buying a 1 acre Lewin street tract the company owns where the authority has an option for a second moderate rental housing project. Chairmen Mex Behrman said no definite action was taken and the authority will make recommendations to the State Housing Authority before further steps. The local body has been granted 385900 to construct 3 housing units similar to those in the Mauxynawam Village project. If the 32 acre tract is obtained the home would be built on Lewin street within three or four weeks with 14 tenants expected to move into completed dwellings at Nanganam. Names of tenants will not be announced until after moving starts. Over 200 applications were received for the Natigawam project.
