Veteran Fire Marshal Michael Shea Dies After Illness
Naugatuck residents mourn the death of Fire Marshal Michael F. Shea at 65 yesterday at his home on Beebo Street after a year of illness. Born in Colchester in 1883, he moved to Naugatuck, served as superintendent of alarms, fire marshal, and driver in the fire department, and also worked for Southern New England Telephone. Funeral services will be Monday at 3:15 a.m. from the Cohee Green Funeral Home with a 1 p.m. Mass at St. Francis Church and burial in St. James Cemetery. he is survived by his wife Josephine and a brother John.
