Man injured by fall on picket fence

Greenwich December 28 A fire gutted the Ely Court school here causing losses stated by officials to exceed one million dollars with estimates approaching two million. The building valued at 600000 and its contents were destroyed. The fire started from an overheated chimney and was discovered by Mrs Peter Marks. Only the housekeeper and two instructors were present. 100 girl students were away on Christmas vacation. Superintendent Granville Lingard is believed killed in the blaze. Firefighter Kaward Daley suffered severe burns.
