In Hartford at 2 45 this morning Louis J Glinski 30 of 166 Hamilton street died at Hartford hospital of a bullet wound after fatally shooting his wife Jennie May Glinski at about 9 pm the couple's home as their Christmas tree was being prepared The incident also left Glinski's mother in law Mrs Matilda Gigle and brother in law Charles Gigle uninjured though the home showed signs of a struggle Authorities said no arrests had yet been made Gigle claimed Glinski shot him self after firing on the others
More than 200 Ku Klux Klan members paraded silently through South Jacksonville in white robes hoods and gowns led by a flaming cross bearing herald. No explanation given. A prior Jacksonville advance rider warned followers to stay back. Outside city park lights flashed as the display ended and riders vanished. Atlanta imperial wizard Woo Simmons said the group aims to maintain white supremacy while supporting constituted authority and opposing lawlessness.
Chicago reports Chief Fitzmorris orders immediate 1 am closing to curb early morning crimes. Poetic rooms cabarets theaters and amusements must shut. pedestrians and taxi riders have one hour grace to reach home. After 2 am policing will investigate those found on streets.
Federal enforcement officers staged a comeback here after their Saturday fiasco. They outwitted Charles Fr. Taylor known as Battling Kane, a famed lightweight, at his Germania hotel last night. One officer invited Kunz to a back room while others hid behind the bar and found a quantity of liquor. Joseph Veres, a bartender for Stephen Novak, was surprised. both Taylor and Veres were held on charges of selling.
