The boroughs public and parochial elementary schools hosted varied Christmas programs last week. Oak Street pupils presented two plays The Three Wise Men and Christmas to the Old Woman in the Shoe with Santa in attendance. Miss Kane and Mrs Behrmann led two grade levels in performances and songs featuring numerous named students and Brownie groups.

New Haven, December 22. Police captured Stanley Janus today after a three year pursuit. He was wanted for allegedly stealing 258 dollars worth of fruit from a railroad boxcar in July 1945. Detectives say Janus was caught attempting to sell a stolen typewriter and a navy officer's coat.
