Overloading Complaints Few And Far Between

Boston based UPI reports state Department of Public Utilities official John W. Seely told a legislative commission that only 137 known overloading complaints had been issued in 22 years, with 62 in the past six months. He defended the records against harassment claims, cited limited investigations, and noted licensing issues and potential record destruction.

Mrs Agatha Sciascia 83 of Waterbury dies after illness

Mrs Agatha Sciascia aged 83 of 307 Washington Ave Waterbury wife of Joseph Sciascia died Wednesday morning at St Marys Hospital after a short illness. Born in Italy Feb 2 1890 she came to the United States and Waterbury five years ago. Survived by husband two sons James and Joseph five daughters Hose Guerrera Sadie Carissimi Marian Merzio Ann Halloran Grace Davison thirteen grandchildren fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Waterbury Man Dies After Brief Illness at 105 Farm Street

Pasquale DiGiovanni 86 of 1106 Bank Street formerly of 29 Easton Avenue died Wednesday at St Marys Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 5 1887 in Sturno Avellino Italy he came to Waterbury in 1910. He worked at Waterbury Mig Co for many years and retired in 1960. A communicant of St Lucys Church he was a World War I veteran. Survived by four sons Daniel DiJohn Southington Ralph DiJohn Florida two daughters Mrs Michael Galgano Bristol Mrs Paul DeSanto Naugatuck a brother retired Waterbury Patrolman Anthony Stango a sister Mrs Francis Cipriano Oakville 16 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren. Funeral for Mrs. John Granica at St Hedwig’s Church

The funeral for Mrs. John Granica of 68 Wooster Street was held today at 8:30 a.m. from Fitzgerald Syrillo Funeral Home to St. Hedwig's Church for a Mass at 9. The Rev. Anthony Smialowski the celebrant with Deacon Rev. Paul Wysocki and Sub-deacon Rev. Ignatius Krupnik. Bearers were Lucian Granica Jr Joseph DeMarca and others. Burial followed at St. James Cemetery with Rosary Society members attending.
