Montanari 78 Taken By Death After Short Illness

Arbitration awards raise drivers pay across Connecticut firms

Storm Buries Borough In Heavy Snow And Hazards

An eight inch blanket of snow from a 20 hour storm covered the borough yesterday. The first major storm began about 2 am and brought total snowfall to 14 inches. Driving and walking were hazardous with cars stuck on hills and plowed streets. Crews worked through the night clearing sidewalks and roads. The Naugatuck Water Co said 4.5 inches of precipitation fell and temperatures ranged from 15 to 27 degrees. A parking ban aided plowing, one traffic death reported in Col linsville, plus several minor accidents statewide.
