Pontiac Dec. 15—N. S. Myron Corbridge, 22, was hanged in a jailyard tent after being convicted of murdering Sol Jones, a guard at the Illinois State Reformatory. Corbridge, who had spent much of his life in prison, showed no faltering as priests and deputies accompanied him to the death march. He read a poem before dying, requested to see his brother, and died after the rope ended his life. The execution marked Tiv ingston County’s first in 400 years.

Springfield Montana December 15 Fer racer State ropsurver Lon Small new governor State Auditor Andrew Russell and faient Gov Pred Sterl ing will be required to file an accounting of state money entrusted to them during this term of office. Circuit Justice Common Ta Jones ruled today. Judge Jones overruled the general demurrers in the case filed by Attorney General Core ogranist Jyu AIdse.
American consul in the incident recovered at his desk today after a slight wound. The assailant was committed to an asylum for the insane. Consul Malla is listed in the December dispatches.
Bridgeport December 15 coal board sets prices: briar coal 14.50 per ton stove coal 14.76 per ton and cutnut coal 15.00 per ton. No straight coal to householders who receive one fourth substitutes with each order. Earlier violations of the old 15.50 price noted. boards warn dealers to comply or seize coal en route.
Doris Bruner, widow of circus owner “Honest John” Bruner, told International News she expects to be acquitted of his murder. She asserted her innocence, praised witnesses for aiding the defense, and doubted self-confessed killer Charles Powell’s role. In Bridgeport on December 13 fire broke out in a cook house chimney at Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey circus winter quarters. The animals in the menagerie were panic stricken for the third time in two weeks but there were no serious injuries or results reported.
Major M. Henry of Hartford and Clifford Lee of Plainsville collided on the New Haven turnpike near Milford. Both vehicles were wrecked but the drivers escaped serious injuries.
Norwalk on December 15 reports Coal Administrator F I Lawson issued a decree fixing the local price of all larger grades of anthracite coal at 16 dollars per ton, a 50 cent rise to cover higher procurement costs, with a requirement that one quarter of orders be filled with substitutes like soft coal or smaller anthracite sizes.
New Haven report says extra freight No 3214 with 60 cars from Danbury to New Haven wrecked at Purkey Brook below Derby. Caboose buckled and caught fire. Conductor W J Delaney and trainmen William H Perry and F J Miller injured but not seriously. Derby fire department extinguished flames. no dynamite on board. entire train carried merchandise.
Mrs. Herman W. Euke of Church Street and two others were injured when cars driven by her husband and J. W. Morgan collided at the Church and Main streets junction. Morgan’s car slid on a slick road, sending Miss Mabel E. Spencer flying from the vehicle. Euke suffered facial cuts from glass. Both patients were treated at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Paris theaters led by the Antoine and directed by Baron Henri del Rothschild have enacted a long awaited reform banning entry after the play begins except between acts. To enforce the rule many theaters refund ticket prices to late arrivals as a push to compel public compliance.
Stratford December 15. Police confiscated a 1 gallon still 1 cent per gallon mash and two quarts of illicit liquor at the home of Victor Polechik 160 Sedgwick avenue. Sergeant Ben Smith said Polechik could not post 300 bonds and was jailed to await federal authorities.
A Bermuda man, Thomas of Hamilton, Bermuda, died today in New York after leaping from a tenth floor hotel window. He was reportedly ill with pneumonia and residing at a prominent hotel.

Martford December 14 judgment was suspended on payment of costs in cases against three local coal dealers charged with short weight coal to poor families. The court believed the sales were not deliberate but due largely to carelessness. The cases of William J. Howell of the Parkville Coal Company and FE I Beckenstein, an apartment house owner, were continued.
New York December 14. A youth from Brockton Massachusetts, Charles Tagell, 17, appeared in West Side Court on a vagrancy charge. Patrolman Ginty asked for leniency and the magistrate discharged him after a fund was raised to send him home. The youth thanked the officer, saying you are a real guy.
Chicago December 15. Lorraine Potter a 21 year old beauty specialist was found dead in her apartment after taking more than 200 tablets. Her last words were Please let me die. A note on a table read Why did he promise to marry me. Police report a suicide by overdose.
Five men robbed Harry A. McKes, a messenger for the First National Bank of Darby, a suburb, of $20,000 as he traveled with the cash. He was shot and slightly wounded. State police are pursuing the fugitives.
