Plans for St Marys Church Christmas Bazaar
Church plans a December 16 bazaar from 2 to 10 PM in the church hall. A homemade food booth will offer cakes, cookies, breads, fudge, and baked goods with volunteers including Rose Flannigan and Julia Sney among many others. Additional booths feature ornaments, aprons, slippers, books, religious articles, a country store, toys, and refreshments. A special prize will cap the altar awards.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles convenes at 8 o clock in the Eagles Aerie with Madam President Lorraine Sagnella presiding. Reports on the cake sale and Christmas party will be given as a Christmas Sale of homemade articles for the Cancer Fund is organized by Mrs. Marie Pruchnicki. A White Elephant sale chaired by Mrs. Florence Aukstolls is planned, and members are urged to attend and donate. Plans include assisting the Eagles Aerie’s Children’s Christmas Party Sunday at 2 pm with wrapping and distribution of popcorn and candy by hostesses Mrs. Frances Keller, Mrs. Ann Hongol ski, and Miss Jane Nolan.

The St Francis School Parents Club meets tonight at 8 in the school hall. Grade six performs carols and customs from Europe as part of All Roads Lead to Bethlehem, with fourth graders providing vocal selections. Former Resident To Observe 95th Birthday Sunday
Mary Barbara Gargonia, born in 1872 in Italy, emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1883 and settled in Nanticoke. She raised a large family, endured floods and hard labor, supported neighbors, and became a dedicated parishioner and community figure before her 95th birthday observance.
