New Haven Women Rescue Jump From Burning Three Stories
Two women were seriously hurt when they leaped three stories from a burning tenement in New Haven on Sunday. Four other residents and a child were injured as flames broke out on the first floor. a youth, Jonathan Parks, age 38, was aided by a ladder and fell against two firefighters but was brought to safety. Firemen estimated the damage at about 10,000 dollars.

AAUW Rivet Sale Supports University Grants
The Navgatucs branel of AAUW reports rivet sale proceeds fund fellowships and stipends for women to attend universities and colleges across 22 states. In 1954-55 member groups raised $129,450 supporting 54 women from 22 counties invited to study nationally. Dr John I. Maske discussed state roles in child psychiatric care. Connecticut plans a new facility opening 1956 to aid hundreds of children.
