Simsbury Extends Participation in Project Concern

Simsbury Conn. officials voted to continue participation in Project Concern, a busing plan desegregating suburban schools by transporting inner city Martford students. Supt Robert Lindauer reported the program has enrolled 265 inner city students in the last three years and will be extended for another year.

A W Sulzberger Dies Former Times Publisher

Arthur Hays Sulzberger former president and publisher of the New York Times Co died in his sleep at 77 after a long illness. He built the Times for 25 years as publisher and chaired its board since 1957. Survived by his wife four children including Arthur Ochs Sulzberger. Memorial service planned at Temple Emmanu-El. Donations to Times Neediest Cases Fund requested.

Four UConn Students Disciplined Over Protest Demonstration

Four University of Connecticut students received penalties from disciplinary probation to suspension after a student-led protest against on campus Dow Chemical job interviews. Richard Savage the SDS president was suspended to June 2, while Lawrence Smyle Jeff Moroso and Karen Cassyd received disciplinary probation.

Dance In Portuguese Club Benefit For Murtosa Hospital

A benefit dance at the Portuguese Club on Rubber Ave in Murtosa seeks to aid Suiza Cisa da Misericordia Hospital. Jack Mutos and his orchestra will perform from 4 to 9 pm Sunday. Cold Weather Tapering Off in Connecticut
