Rev. Raymond Putnam, longtime associate minister of the Secum Congregational Church Gere, has accepted a call to become minister of the First Church of Christ Congregational in Bethany. State Comptroller Charles P. Harper widened the probe into school building grants. He paused payments to 13 municipalities to review contracts for improprieties.
