Samuel Post aged 70 waiting beside the Central New England tracks at Pleasant Valley curve was struck by a train and killed. The accident occurred as the train left Wine stud for Hartford at 1 42. Post a building wrecker was deaf and did not hear the approaching train while on his way to a wood lot with an axe over his shoulder. He leaves a daughter and a son.

The Ladies Aid society will hold a fair on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Each afternoon at 3 o'clock a sale of fancy work and aprons will be held, followed by supper until 7 o'clock. Menu includes boiled ham, beans, potatoes, biscuits, and pie. Proceeds support the society.

Philadelphia, Dec 10. A change in plans led to the death of William Edward Donovan known as Wild Bill in the wreck of the Twentieth Century Limited at Forsythe New York yesterday. Donovan’s father Jeremiah Donovan said he had planned to leave for Chicago Friday night. Relatives expect his body to arrive tonight as Philadelphia’s sporting fraternity prepares a final tribute. Donovan, born in Lawrence Massachusetts in 1876, grew up in Philadelphia and began professional pitching at 15, joined Sunbury at 19, debuted with the Washington Senators in 1898, managed Philadelphia in 1920, and since 1921 led the New Haven club of the Eastern League.
The Naugatuck High School senior class and chaperones enjoyed Sothern and Marlowe in Hamlet at the Shubert theater New Haven. The event highlighted Shakespeare’s value for students and drew prominent school attendance among other groups. Officials say section one stopped due to trouble while section two passed before a stalled car on the tracks caused section three to collide with section one.
