Unhurt In School Bus Crash In Waterbury
Lemuel Baumel of 7 Plaza avenue was fined after appearing before Judge Martin L. Caine in Borough Court on a road rules violation. A collision occurred on Cross street involving Baumel’s car and a loaded school bus. about 20 children were on board but were later sent to school by another bus. Police reported no children on or near the bus when officers arrived. The crash was described as weather and road conditions contributing, with Baumel and the bus driver charged. The bus driver was found innocent. Also, Nelle Homer Somers of Ansonia was granted a nominal speeding nolle on payment of five dollars.

Rocky Hill Party Attracts Veterans And Borough Residents
About 50 members of the New Haven county council and Veterans of Foreign Wars hosted more than 500 veterans at a Christmas party this week at Rocky Hill hospital. The event, led by Mrs. Katerine Radcliffe, featured gifts, ice cream, bingo, and prizes. Natugatuck veterans listed included Frank Dion, Arthur Johnson, Dennis Fitzgerald, John Freeman, Joseph Kiernan, and Alex Pokes. Some veterans were described as ill, while others from the borough attended with their families. A ramp from Crusader post and its Ladies Auxiliary was presented to a Naugatuck veteran. Attendees from the borough included James Schall and many others.
