Fires Mark Busy Weekend with Alarms in Borough and Accidents

Fire crews responded to incidents including a call on Rubber Ave where the blaze was already out, and a Saturday alarm at 33 am leading to a home on Rubber Ave. Casualties included Thomas Szeaupkowski and Linda Howe in separate accidents. Howe died at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. A grass fire on Meadow St. and a plant fire at a Fairdale facility were reported with smoke and minor damage. Police noted fatalities in New York traffic incidents, while a state school fire in Shirley caused no injuries. A Boston hearing on health programs was announced for Tuesday at Faneuil Hall.
