Churches To Present Messiah In Naugatuck Sunday
The Naugatuck Council of Churches sponsors Handel's Messiah at the Congregational Church tomorrow at four. The event will feature a sung choral portion led by Jesse Davis with audience participation, an organ prelude by Christa Rakich, and soloists Cynthia Fowler Zornig Joseph Guyer and Donald Bundock. A reception follows in the Parish House and attendees are urged to bring Messiah copies if possible.

At the Howard Whittemore Library three dolls from Portugal are showcased. Brought by Miss Jacinta Antunes, the figures wear authentic Nazare seaside village costumes with petti coats, handmade picot edges, black overskirts, and bright hand embroidery. An elaborate black headdress, lace cuffs, gold hoop earrings, and a medallion necklace complete each outfit, with a colorfully hand painted Portuguese rooster also on display.

Following a reception at Actors Colony Inn, the couple left for a wedding trip to an unannounced destination. They wed November 11 1919 at St Francis Church by Rev Thomas Cooney. A fiftieth anniversary Mass was held last Saturday for them celebrated by Rt Rev Monsignor Joseph Healey.
