Mr and Mrs Hoffman marked their 68th wedding anniversary at 401LMan, 732 New Haven Road today. They wed on December 4, 1800, in Patterson New Jersey. They have three children Albert Clark Corner Conn Witter Filiop Alabama and Mrs Kalas of Naugatuck, plus five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The Wam ers Auxiliary of the Union City Little League held a Monday meeting at the K of C Home electing officers for 1959. Margaret Burns was named president, Fay Marinella vice president, Lorraine Sagnella secretary, Clari Carriero treasurer, Elizabeth Dullard publicity, with Catherine Zak three years on the Board of Control, Dorothy Cowan two years, and Jelanik one year. The next meeting is scheduled for January 72 at 7:30 p.m., and new members are welcome.
The Christmas party of Kennedy Circle No 20 Daughters of Isabella will be held Tuesday December 9 at the Twin Oaks Inn Oxford. Members may request bus transportation by contacting Edith Vane during the day or Rita Rossi in the evening. Calls must be made before Friday. Members are asked to bring a 50 cent prize bag gilt.
Final plans for the Naugatuck Emblem Club No. 160 Christmas party were set at a regular meeting. Mrs. Christine Leach chairs the affair. The party is Wednesday December 10 at the Elks Lodge Rooms with a 7 30 cocktail hour and 8 p m turkey dinner. Members should bring a 1 grab bag and contact Mrs Leach at 9 3794 by December 6 if attending. Santa will attend and entertainment is planned.
Evergreen Chapter No. 22 Order of Eastern Star observes Master Masons Night at Masonic Temple Church Street. The 8 p.m. meeting led by Mrs. Geraldine Sweet Worthy Matron and Oliver Arnold Worthy Patron includes a program honoring Master Masons directed by Mrs. Jacqueline Hultzberg with refreshments served by Mrs. Betty Engle.
Waterbury man Louis C. Angelicola, 27 of 520 Congress Avenue, was found innocent by a 12-member jury in Common Pleas Court after appealing a Prospect Justice Court verdict from August 18. The judge praised the quick six minute deliberation and noted the girls' shock may have led to a mistaken identification, stressing the gravity of a wrong conviction.

William C. Davis son of Mr and Mrs Jesse F Davis of Millville Avenue appears on Mount Tinton School Mount Hermon Mass honor roll for the current marking period as a freshman. He was elected captain of his soccer team and named a member of the Boys Glee Club.
Albert Thorp of Winsted, known for a long record and unchanging attitude, began a one to seven year prison term after pleading guilty to blackmail. He reportedly sent letters threatening the life of Florence Spring of Winsted, the woman he had worked for. Judge William J. Shea noted Thorp refused psychiatric talk in jail and had a severe prior record. He was arrested at the victim’s home as he broke in and attempted to choke her.
Mr and Mrs Iyaney Klimasie and family hosted a party at their Culver court Naugatuck home for the 35th wedding anniversary of Sidney Klimasieskis and his wife Theodora They were married November 27 1923 at St Hedwig s Church A large supper followed with many relatives and friends in attendance including John Zbikowski Jr Phyllis Klimasieski and Misses Jane Wozniak Stella Wozniak Mary Sodlosky and more totaling numerous guests from the local community
Tyree Thompson, 35, was treated for a broken arm after police say he was apprehended by three store clerks following alleged theft of 64 cents worth of goods. He claimed the injury occurred while being detained at the New Britain, Connecticut store. A doctor confirmed the arm was fractured. Thompson was being bailed out of jail when the injury occurred.
Airman Second Class Joseph C. Butler is spending leave with his parents Mr and Mrs John Buller at 76 Manners Avenue. Mrs Butler is convalescing at home with a ruptured disk. Airman Butler will leave soon for overseas duty. Susan Dean Voreeski of 200 North Toadley Street celebrates her birthday tomorrow. A third anniversary Mass for the late Stephen Suchenski will be held Saturday at 8 am in St Hedwig's Church. Evergreen Chapter No 22 OES officers will join Friends Night at Waterbury Chapter Home on Wednesday evening December 10. A Mohican Market incident involved two items allegedly taxed. the man believed he was injured when a clerk grabbed his arm and twisted it pre police arrival.
Hartford Conn UPI Two proposals to provide loans for qualified Connecticut students to complete college were prepared for the 1959 legislature. The latest plan, submitted Tuesday by State Senator Russell F Boyce Democrat Willingford, calls for a 700000 dollar bond issue to back loans and would create a state loan program administered by a commission.
The Education Committee reported two measures weeks ago. One would create a student loan program and the other establish a scholarship fund funded by voluntary contributions. The proposals aim to support study opportunities through public assistance and private donations.
