Police report high success with winter parking restrictions allowing two wheels on sidewalks and two on streets, aiding snow plows. A few motorists have overstepped by parking entirely on sidewalks, prompting calls for caution and pedestrian access preservation.
The Planning and Zoning Commission met with the Sewer Authority and Board of Selectmen to review present sewer ordinances and potential sub division regulations. Joseph Summa 55 of 25 Bald win street died at his home from a gun wound ruled a personal safety incident. A World War I veteran born in Italy he lived in Naugatuck 40 years and worked at U S Rubber Company. Survived by wife Rose two sons Patrolman Joseph F Summa and James F Summa daughter Margaret and two grandchildren. Funeral 8:30 Saturday from Buckmiller to St Mary's Church for 9 am Mass. Burial at St James Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday 7 to 10 pm.
A career diplomat Walter Donnelly reputedly retires from the American High Commission in Germany to enter private business. He has served as filigh commissioner since June, with Samuel Reher named to fill the post until the new administration takes over in January.
