New York, Dec 1. Samuel Beaver his wife Fannie and his father Nathan Beaver were burned to death in a Brooklyn tenement fire early today. The blaze started from a creak of an oil heater.
Dee Pitman a colored man walked into Cambridge police headquarters last night and surrendered claiming he was wanted in Atlanta Georgia for murder. He said he stabbed Joan Thomas during a March altercation over a coal bill in Atlanta.
Washington reports say Senator Robert M. La Follette of Wisconsin faces disloyalty accusations but may escape censure if supporters cannot mount a stronger case. The stalled inquiry, started two months ago, has repeatedly lacked a quorum, delaying action and prompting requests for more time from the privileges and elections committee. Senator Pomerene, chair, denies any plan to abandon the investigation as La Follette asserts he will be exonerated.
