John J. Mehigan aged 87 of 548 Rubber Ave died Dec 1 1973 at St Mary's Hospital natural causes. He was born Sept 24 1906 in Naugatuck and was a retired Seavill Manufacturing employee. He leaves a sister and a brother and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday 11 am Buck Miller Funeral Home Naugatuck with burial in St James Cemetery. Visitation Monday 7 to 9 pm. Memorials to Naugatuck Congregational Church Organ Fund. Arthur Mornbecker 67 of 56 Ward St Waterbury died at St Mary's Hospital after a short illness. Born April 1 1906 in Naugatuck he was a longtime Gaels Mig Cai employee, retiring April 17. He leaves a wife, a son Donald A, a daughter Marion Dalka of Avon, three brothers and two grandchildren. Funeral services were at Alderson Funeral Home Waterbury with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Miss Alice E. Ryan 90 of 64 Lounsbury Street died Sunday at St. Marys Hospital after a brief illness. Born Nov 24 1883 in Waterbury she worked 40 years at Howland Hughes Co retiring in 1955. She leaves nieces and nephews and will lie in state at Kelly Funeral Home before Mass at St Francis Xavier Church Tuesday. Burial in Old St Josephs Cemetery.

Funeral Service For Frank Janus 55 Held In City Church

Funeral services for Frank Janus 55 of Hoadley Street were held Saturday at 8 30 a m from Fitzgerald Zembruski Syrilla Funeral Home to St Francis Church for Mass. Rev Raymond Pitrugzelle officiated assisted by Deacon Henry Dean. Madeline Baker organist and Mrs Farrar salvist. Bearers included Mayor William Rade Burgess Jack Foley Bruce Janus John Janus Edward Bozenski and George Lisieski with a VFW delegation as honorary bearers Joe Poplauskas William Triano Bill Lannen and Richard Clark also present. Honorary hearers were Burgesses Fred Sokoloski Marge Carlson and Thomas Curtin Police Chief Frank Mariano and Street Superintendent Michael Kelly attended. Burial followed at St James Cemetery with Fr Pitruzzello and Deacon Henry Dean directing committal prayers.

Hiram Haydn 66 editor author and publisher died Sunday at his home in Chilmark after illness. Native of Cleveland he lived in Connecticut years and edited the American Scholar since 1944. He planned a spring publication Words and Faces. Survived by his second wife Mary, a daughter and two sons.
