The School Board approved three proposed elementary schools costing about 750000 dollars. Plans place Central Avenue West Side and Cross Street buildings with seven classrooms, a kitchen and assembly hall. funding would come mostly from a 700000 dollar bond with 10000 from existing funds.
The body of Lieut Raymond J. Swink, 218 Highland Avenue Waterbury, brother of Mia Johny Clehowski of Naugatuck, will be driven to Waterbury Monday evening at 4 33 for burial. Lieut Swink was killed in action in Italy on November 22. He is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs Swink and four sisters Mrs Fussell Howen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 30 from Stokes Funeral Home to Riverside Street to St Joseph's Church for a solemn high mass at 10. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock and are asked to please omit flowers.
