A decision meanwhile limits new building to 200 feet in Chicago, with new height rules effective July 1.
Dee 3 Tukus a tailor of Williamsburg is charged with attacking his wife shortly after she gave birth to their tenth child. The woman died at Western Dyck hospital and the newborn girl is not expected to survive. Neighbors found the husband assaulting his wife as she lay with the infant in her arms.
New Haven December 3. Yale juniors publish a protest in Yale News objecting to the costly cutaway and track coat worn at the annual Prom. They argue the attire is undemocratic and beyond the reach of many students, urging abolition to promote social equality.
New Haven reports Chandler of Rocky Hill refuses to allow his name as a candidate for speaker of the next House. He pledges to back direct primaries and a roll call vote for nominations. Canada plans a domestic warship program with four Bristol class cruisers and six River class destroyers built in Canada using British design, oil fuel, and a total program cost around 30 million dollars. A naval college will open in Halifax early next year and officers begin training on the cruisers Nickel and Rainbow in Halifax and Victoria.

Sufficient seed has been received to plant several acres and Sanntor Crane will be informed Pittfield favors esthetic landscaping.
Patrick J Dillern died at his home 50 Middletown avenue in New Haven. He was born in the Copper Mine district of Bristol and grew up in Morrestville. He leaves his wife, his father James Dillern, three sisters Mrs. J M Walden Mrs A B O Hara and Miss Kate Dillern all of Forestville, and three brothers James A Forestville Baward D New Haven and Williams R Northampton Mage.
Local report states Dr. John L. Pettard of Buenos Ayres was bound over to the Superior Court today on a charge of passing worthless checks. He is held on a $2,000 bond and fined $10 plus costs for defrauding a local hotelkeeper. Pettard claims to be a graduate of an eastern university.
Dr George Wr Belden of New Haven held without bail after being charged with performing an abortion on Miss Annie Smith aged 21 who gave a false name Lynn at a local hospital. Smiths condition reported slightly improved while Belden, recently arrived from New York, had established a noted practice. Arrests for criminal operations have been frequent in the city this month.
Washington records report Senator Tillman of South Carolina delighted by a large plantation barn project that revived his vigor. He rejects retirement, saying he will not quit the game, with Mrs. Tillman joking about keeping him grounded.
Washington reports the last Congress authorized two new battleships to be built. Texas will be privately constructed and named for the state, while New York will be government built at the New York navy yard. Existing ships will be renamed, including Texas becoming San Marcos and the cruiser New York to Manhattan.
New Haven December 3 Baldwin has not yet accepted the chamber of commerce dinner invitation where President Theodore Roosevelt will speak. The time limit was extended to the night of the banquet to accommodate Baldwin. Chamber officials expect Roosevelt to attend and deliver the main address, with Baldwin possibly called on to speak if he attends. Borough clerks begin curb and sprinkling assessments ahead of the Board of Swarden and burgesses meeting Tuesday night.
Walter Ferguson Jr of Stamford files for divorce from Emilie Carstairs Ferguson alleging unfaithfulness with George Gilam a Maine guide and trapper. He seeks custody of daughter Wovilie Frances Ferguson and notes Mrs Ferguson resides at the Hotel Webster New York.
