Hartford Courant farm editor Holdridge was named nation’s outstanding newspaper agricultural editor at the Newspaper Farm Editors’ Assn meeting in Chicago. He received a $500 cash prize and a silver Tilzer Agricultural Editors’ Award from C Jan Westmoreland. Waterbury Woman Held In Murder
Barbara Fuller, 26, of Waterbury is held without bond on murder charges in the shooting death of Donald Ellis. Ellis was found with a brain wound from a gunshot at his North Main Street apartment about 3 a.m. Sunday. Detectives say the incident followed a quarrel. Fuller and Ellis had lived together for over seven years. She was arraigned and bound over to Superior Court. trial date not yet set.

Police Seek Four Who Fled Prison
State police hunt four of seven prisoners who escaped from New Haven State Correctional Center. Three escapees, Vincent Brown Patrick Leno and Lewis Monsillo, were recaptured within an hour near the jail after slipping through an open door, climbing to the roof, and dropping from a 15 foot drain pipe. The four at large remain at large but are not considered highly dangerous. a guard spotted them on the roof and alerted authorities as troopers checked the area.

Sisters Die In House Fire in Chester Connecticut
Two young sisters Dawn Marie Bradley six and Michelle Bradley three died in a Chester house fire that burned about two hours before control by firefighters. Their mother Marion Bradley twenty two was treated for burned hands and rested comfortably at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. Neighbor Raymond Bradley was away from home at the time. The three room Toomhouse was gutted and the blaze began around 7 30 p.m with cause still under investigation.
