In Hollywood Florida a car struck and killed two Connecticut residents as they crossed near their hotel. Helen Anastasios 70 of Orange and William Andreas 78 of Meriden died. Andreas’ 7-year old wife Efstastia was in poor condition at Hallandale Hospital. Police filed charges against the driver.

State Gets New Budget System

Obituary of Raymond J. O Connor founder of Stratford Shakespeare festival
Raymond J. O Connor 78 formerly of Naugatuck died on a fishing trip in Quebec. Services set for Thursday at 2 AM from McDonald Funeral Home Stratford with 10 AM Mass at St Mark's Church. Interment in Putney Cemetery Stratford. O Connor a Yale metallurgical student and longtime metallurgist led Contract Plating Co. later becoming president and chairman. He helped found Stratford Shakespeare Festival Theatre and Academy and held multiple civic roles including Man of the Year 1952 by VFW Post. He leaves widow Mary Veronica and siblings George B Stratford and Mrs Erwin C Hathaway Walcott.

Marvin F. Tuttle 73 of Woodland Trailer Park Shelton was found dead by Great Hill Cemetery police said shortly before midnight Monday. Dr. Oscar Rogel medical examiner ruled death due to natural causes after autopsy Tuesday. Tuttle had been missing since Sunday. car found near cemetery led to check of registration and relatives. He was born February 15, 1900 in Seymour, son of Fred and Armin Tulle. Survived by three sons, four sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral Thursday at 1 a.m. at Lewis & Sons Funeral Home Derby. burial in Great Hill Cemetery. No calling hours.
