A gas blast at Union Coal and Coke’s Bowen mine near Trinidad Colorado last night killed sixteen workers and left others missing. Rescue teams recovered four bodies by 10 o'clock. London Aug 8 The Birmingham Correspondent of the Times confirms a Montreal report on forming an Anglo Canadian steel pool including Guest Koon & Co Bolokaw Vaughan & Co Bir Christopher Furness and the Dominion Iron and Steel Co Arrangements are contemplated with the Canadian Pacific and Grand Trunk railways and new British Canadian steamship services The pool would involve 250 million in capital but it is uncertain whether a single company or no pooling arrangement will be effected
