He noted patients range from professionals to laborers, and that 5 percent of early cases may return to normal life with proper care. 60 to 65 percent of advanced cases may regain active life with rehabilitation and diagnosis. The freighter American Farmer sank after a collision with the William J. Riddle about 400 miles west of the English Channel. All hands aboard the American Farmer were saved and later transferred to the Benjamin Goodhue. The American Farmer had left New York a week earlier for London, owned by United States Lines. Damage to the William J. Riddle is being determined.
A Beacon Falls woman filed a $2,500 suit in Waterbury Common Pleas against Samuel H. Greenberg and Victor Leon dba Leon's Institute of Hair Dressing alleging a 1945 permanent wave mishap at 78 East Main Street Waterbury caused third degree burns and partial hair loss on the left scalp, with ongoing humiliation expected.
President Guston Adams announced that four meetings with 208 Naugatuck Chemical Co employees will be held tonight at 7 80 o clock at Local 45 rooms. Several matters of importance will be disengsed.
Judge Martin L. Caine announces the establishment of a Small Claims Division at the Naugatuck Municipal Court effective August 1 1946. Sessions will be held on the second and fourth Mondays for two months and then on every Monday thereafter. regulations and procedures will be available soon.

UN Secretary General Lie warned that delay in Paris could postpone the New York UN assembly meeting scheduled for September 23rd.
The New England Crop Reporting Service reports about 61,000 bee colonies in the region, up 7,000 from last year. The winter loss was 1 percent, far below the prior year's 24 percent drop.
