Incendiary Fire Hits New York Inns Probe Begun
In Inghamton New York County officers opened an investigation into an incendiary fire that destroyed the Los Cabin roadside inn soon after Harold Walters the proprietor refused to sell. Sheriff Harry C. Scudder said warnings were given that the ale would burn if Walters did not close it. The Log Cabin had been a regular target for police and prohibition agents but liquor was never found. Walters closed the inn temporarily after a sheriff visit a week earlier but furnishings were lost in the blaze. The Windsor Castle Inn nearby had also been burned recently by an incendiary fire by crusaders targeting vice activities.

Stamford April 24 Miss Anna Gaffney of Glenbrook a former assistant city clerk is in critical condition at Stamford hospital after a New Canaan branch train struck her stalled sedan on a grade crossing near her home.
