A long OCR fragment lists numerous residents with street addresses across a Naugatucer area. It includes Mrs. William Paul at 55 Oak Street, Miss Dolly Horan at 158 South Main Street, Mrs. Marion Dowling at 413 South Main Street, Jacob Kingsley at 288 High Street, Miss Cella Alm Meadow Street, John Dunn at 26 Riverside Drive, and many others with varied street addresses and partial numbers. The text resembles a city directory snippet with scattered names and residences, interspersed with OCR errors and partial dates or codes.
A formatted notice lists Waterbury residents and addresses including Miss Agnes M. Nichols 440 North Main Chester Bulka 587 Charel Street Miss Welen Roche 190 North Main Street and others such as Alex Kowaleski 7 Curtiss Street Miss Bertha Cierszowski 58 Prospect Street Mrs Anna L Selleck 2655 North Main Street Edward J McGrath 2 Orchard Terrace Miss Mark Smith 539 North Main Street Mrs Mary Ynamaitis 221 North Main Street Edward Quinn 4 Main Street and Lydia Garrison P O Box 168 among numerous entries with varying street numbers and city locations.
Fire of unknown origin heavily damaged the Crocker House in New London as flames started on the fifth floor and collapsed multiple floors. About $50,000 in damage. 160 guests escaped with belongings. The blaze drew 20 water lines. its blaze extended to the roof before the main structure fell, with nearby stores and offices spared.
Local sportsmen gathered in the town hall to discuss forming the Naugatuck Fish and Game Protective Association aimed at promoting better sports conditions, protecting game and fish, and enforcing fair practices. A permanent organization is to be formed at a meeting on April 20 with leaders from nearby associations and attendees urged to attend.
Naugatuck youths are advised about 311,000 more in allotments for Citizens Military Training Camps in New England. About 1500 have signed for 80 days at camps in Devens Fort Ethan Allen Fort McKinley Fort Adams and Port Terry with 3000 total places to be divided. Apply to Lieut J. Notice states the Democratic caucuses and primaries will be held Thursday evening April 9 1925 at 8 o'clock in each ward of the Borough and Town of Naugatuck for nominating delegates and alternates to a general convention, electing ward committees, and nominating a Democratic Burgess in each ward. Delegates will form a Democratic Town Committee of five to hold a two year term. Jown J Gorman, Chairman.
Norris M. Follett chairs Naugatuck post 17 membership committee to renew the remaining 1924 memberships and seek a 33 percent increase for 1925. Larry Allen William Allen and Edward J. Welch assist. Connecticut Legion growth continues with 63 percent of 1924 renewals by March 31 and districts led by District 2 New Haven.
Jackie Coogan, a youthful screen actor, was awarded six cents in damages by Supreme Court Justice Delehanty in a suit against Adams-Bach Handkerchief Manufacturing Co Inc and Charles B Weyand Co for use of his name and a picture without consent in New York on April 1.
Beacon Valley basketry class met with Miss Van Cleef at the Grange hall in Straitsville for a dress form lesson. Fourteen members worked steadily and left satisfied. A future session with Mrs. A Noble is planned, with an additional dressmaking lesson on April 17 and sewing machine access at the hall.
The forecast covers Connecticut Massachusetts and Rhode Island with fair weather and gradual warming tonight and Wednesday. A southern disturbance moved little, clouds and rain on the Middle and South Atlantic coasts, high pressure over the Lake region shifting seaward, pleasant northern districts east of the Rockies, Missouri Valley warming, and auto lights rule by 6 52 p m.
