On December 29 1932 the Weather Bureau sent a weather recording instrument by air from Omaha. It likely landed in Butler County with a red parachute. Farmers are urged to search fields near cleared cornstalks and unculled land. Instrument to be returned to W B Jakl in Omaha for a $15 reward.

Caroline Heise Dies After Illness Near Clarksville
Caroline Heise died Friday near Clarksville after a several weeks illness. Born March 35 1861 in Tr county she lived in Butler and Plainfield before settling in Clarksville. She married Helmuth on January 22 1881, who died around 1999, and was survived by thirteen children including Mesdames William Wedeking Carl Helmuth Fred Edward Henry and others of Clarksville Nashua Waterloo and Chester. The funeral was at Pleasant Valley Saint2:00 p.m. with Rev B Hardt officiating and burial in Valley cemetery.

Republic Youth Fatally Shot in Hunt Accident

She left nine children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and memories of hospitality and kindness. Funeral held March 27 at Nashua Congregational Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Charles City. Also reported Horton farmer Edwin Thde, 20, died after a fall from a tree on his farm near Horton. he sustained a basal skull fracture and died at Mercy Hospital, Waverly. He left a widow, mother, four daughters, a brother, and three half sisters.

A Nashua opera house crowd attended the home talent production The Attorney for the Defense on Thursday evening. About 400 watched as tickets earned over 50 dollars. net proceeds, around 59 dollars, go to the High School baseball fund. Cast members and alumni from Nashua High School included Robert Morris and Betty Waudby. Miss Elizabeth Milne coached the cast. Music between acts was by the Nashua High School band directed by Victor Lunn.
