Fine Herd of Black Poll Steers Shipped From Greenwood
A premier flock of 100 Black Poll steers raised by Prodhon Howard and A F Humbert in Greenwood was shipped Wednesday. Sold to Will and Legler of Muscatine and Miller and Compton of Waverly, four carloads went to Chicago and one to a yard for continued feeding. They averaged 1123 pounds at 5.60 per hundred.

Marriage of Beatrice Pritcher to Edson A Moon
Sunday afternoon at the Pritcher home Beatrice Pritcher married Edson A Moon in a quiet ceremony led by Rev. Piper of the M. E. church. Beatrice, Nashua High School graduate 1900 and former assistant postmistress, is praised as a homemaker. Moon, county recorder, was elected last fall. the couple departed Monday for New Hampton for their new home.

Former Nashua girl Miss Durg ee and three Charles City high school students form the Elizabethan Quartette with Myrtle Peckham Elizabeth Wilbur Ruth Prime under Mrs Elizabeth Carmichael. The group blends strong voices and has invitations beyond the city and a place in the State Music Teachers convention program in Des Moines.

Mrs. C. A. Quaife Dies After Illness Near Ionia
Mrs. C. A. Quaife died at her home south of Ionia on Friday after seventy two days of pluro-pneumonia. She bore her pain uncomplainingly and was beloved by all who knew her. Survived by husband and eight children: Charles, Harry, Elvin, Elie, Fannie, Bessie of Ionia, Walter of Minnesota, Arthur of Kansas. Funeral held at MBE church in Ionia. interment Greenwood Cemetery.

Nashua Bride Weds Jacksonville Groom in Peoria
Miss Carrie Smith of Nashua and Mr Ed J Phalen of Jacksonville J were married in Peoria Tuesday last week and visited Nashua briefly at her father G K Smith’s home. The bride, a Nashua native and longtime stenographer for Avery Co in Peoria, has left work to begin married life. The groom represents the Majestic Steel Range Co of St Louis and they will reside in Peoria Ill.

Pioneer Johnson McLarnan Dies in Nashua
Old Nashua settler Johnson McLarnan died at his daughter Mrs. G E Seales home in Nashua Monday June 26 1905 after a two year paralysis and Brights disease. He was 76 years 1 month and 7 days old leaving six children Helen Miller of Indiana Ethel Thomas of Greene Fred of Waterloo G E Seales Phil Jr and Perry of Nashua Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday at 10 am conducted by Rev Sinden of the Congregational church with interment at Oak Hill cemetery.

The St Paul Auto Carnival tour plans a Chicago to St Paul route with Nashua expected July 2 afternoon. First day reaches Rockford, 93 miles, then Dubuque Iowa as headquarters at Julien hotel. From Dubuque the route shifts to Independence, Waterloo, Janesville, Plainfield, Charles City with third stop at Hildreth hotel. July 3 heads Floyd Osage St Ansgar Lyle and Austin with Fox hotel for final night, then into St Paul on July 4.

Crop Bulletin for Des Moines Region 1905 Update
For the week ending June 26 1905 Des Moines lows the week warmed and cooled with average temperatures slightly below normal. Rainfall was variable but moisture was concentrated in a small area. Warmth supported corn growth as most of the state reports good cultivation progress. Early planted fields are being plowed the third time and stands exceed prior expectations. Spring wheat shows vigorous growth with little rust. Oats vary from light to heavy across soils. sunshine and dry weather needed for fair yields. Barley heads well with fair prospects. Clover is very heavy except locally. Timothy is uneven. Potatoes promise extra yield. Apples are fair in the north and very poor in the south.
