Marriage ceremony in Firet M. E. Cana church

Community celebration follows the wedding of a local bride at Firet M. E. Cana church. The service, officiated by Congregational pastor, united the bride and groom before family and friends. A wedding dinner was held after the ceremony, and the couple plans to settle on the family farm near Colwell before their future.

Cantata Pleases Nashua Congregational Church

A Nashua audience praised the cantata The Nativity of Christ at the Sunday evening service, calling it superb. Soloists Mrs. W dirs A L Johnson M son G I Dexter and Dr B W Burleigh led beautiful choruses and carols, showcasing local musical talent.

Death of Elnora Richman Pierce Ends in Iowa Home

The community mourns El­nora Richman Pierce who died at her home in Nashua Iowa after a brief illness following an operation. She was born in Chickasaw County in 1857 and married Charles L. Pierce in 1906. Survived by her husband two brothers and two sisters, the service was held at the Methodist church with interment in Greenwood cemetery.

Masonic School of Instruction in Nashua Next Week

A Masonic school of instruction will be held in Nashua on January 4 5 and 6. The state is divided into districts with multiple schools each year. Chio district includes Chickasaw Floyd Howard Mitchell Cerro Gordo and Worth counties. The other school for this district will be February 8 9 and 10 at Elma. Sessions are at the Masonic hall and all Masons are invited to attend. District Lecture James E Start of Victor is in charge.

Fire at Will Fritzie home damages milk house

A small fire at the Will Fritzie residence west of town last Thursday caused the milk house to be completely destroyed. The blaze allegedly started from a gasoline engine pack, with a gasoline tank explosion blowing parts of the rig as far as thirty feet.

Death Claims Two Pioneer Residents in Nashua Community

Two long respected Nashua figures died after extended illnesses. Mrs. Marina Huyler of Nashua passed Saturday evening at home, survived by many children and siblings, with funeral at The Methodist church led by Rev. Paul Pease. Henry Bean, a Nashua pioneer, died Sunday after months of illness. born 1832 in New York, Civil War veteran, married Charlotte Hall, eight children, interred at Greenwood.

Cummins for President Club Forms in Chickasaw County

A Republican meeting in New Hampton last Tuesday formed a Cummins for President club. A fund of 3300 was raised to aid campaign work. Resolutions praised Albert B. Cummins as a national public figure and pledged GOP effort for his presidential nomination. Attendees Measra Granger Pat ney Smith Ayers traveled to the meeting.

Mrs. Lana Bartsch hosted a Christmas gathering of the P. E. O. Sisterhood on December 21 with guests Mrs. G. B. Grawe Islaes Emma Horton and Claudia Smith. Farm Home Burned on Henry Bann Farm Near Carrville

The Henry Bann farm home near Carrville was destroyed by fire Monday morning with all contents. Mari Beine and his wife and two young children narrowly escaped while he suffered facial burns trying to save farm items. the family had no insurance and a fund was started to help reimburse him for losses.
